Competition Opportunities

Part of the spirit of the Douglas County Fair & Rodeo comes from contests and competitions. From dog shows, to livestock competitions, and entering your best pie or quilt, nothing compares to winning a ribbon at the Douglas County Fair & Rodeo.

Ag & Floriculture Open Class Competition

2024 Ag & Flori Results

Every year, CSU Extension partners with the Douglas County Fair & Rodeo for a county-wide agriculture and floriculture open class competition!

Join us this year to enter your best natural resources, with items like Honey and Eggs, to Vegetable Art and Artistic Arrangements, all the way to Fairy Gardens, and endless varieties of Flowers and House Plants.

Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or a new green thumb, we await your entry this year. Use the resources within CSU Extension to start growing your open class entries. Volunteers are available regularly to assist you with questions you have about horticulture topics and would be thrilled to help those excited about growing for the open class contests.

Ag & Floriculture Open Class Competitions are open to all ages, open to amateurs and professionals.

Age categories are as of August 1, 2024:

  • Youth: Grades K-12 and up to 18 years old
  • Adults: 19 years of age and older
  • Seniors: 55 years and older
